Anonymous Bristol Resident

One night I was sleeping out in the dugouts in Rockwell park, I heard a cop saying my name through the loud speaker in his car. He said Pat was looking for me and she had pizza. Unfortunately it took me too long to pack my blanket back into my backpack and rush over there, but what matters is that Pat was there, and the Bristol police were there with her. There is only one way to make people feel the way I felt. Go out of your way to help people. Just like Ms. Stebbins does. You can tell in her eyes that she has been through a lot; regardless, she gives her all. She came to a park with subway and McDonald’s gift cards at Page Park when I was without food or shelter. She keeps a safe and clean facility for people with nothing but a broken beating heart to go to. She asks you how you are and gives you a hug when you need it, and you can feel that she needs it too. If Pat Stebbins is not a prime example of how we should react with one another then I don’t know what love is. She is one woman, and impacts so many in a great way. She can’t help everybody, as nobody can…. but if we all had the integrity of this great woman, life might be a little easier.
